Duration: 24 months, since December 2018 until December 2020. Extended until 31st March 2021!
Budget: 378.921,85 €.

The construction sector is undergoing a deep transformation process, for the technological and organisational innovation and the new normative framework of the sector imposes the redefinition of the profiles and the training of the construction site technicians, integrating and in some cases replacing the existing knowledge, skills and capabilities of this professionals.
For this, the Icaro Project aims to revitalize the construction industry, which needs a generational replacement, developing and updating qualification of Construction Site Technician of the Partnership countries (Spain, Italy, Lithuania and Belgium) so that the knowledge and competences taught are consistent with the professional needs of the construction sector.
For development this qualification, the Project aims to cover the following objectives:
- To address the gender issue –since only 10% of Vocational Training (VET) graduates are women-, with aim to make the building sector more attractive for the women.
- To include Work Based Learning (WBL) experiences within companies into the training process.
- To enhance student’s mobility through the creation of a dedicated network.
- To involve social partners and employers in the decisions regarding training quality, the effectiveness check of the WBL experience and the impact in the employment market.
